    Pesach 5769

    Pesach

    MECHIRAS CHOMETZ Mechhiras Chometz

All products that are not kosher for Pesach must be disposed of before Pesach. More often than not, this is not practical. The alternative is to negotiate a legal sale of these products before the Holiday. After Pesach, if desired, these things may be bought back.

    SHEMURAH MATZAH Shemurah Matzah

The Matzah which we use for the Seder must be under supervision from the cutting of the wheat and throughout all the processing. This is called vruna vmn. It is baked by hand and is specifically done so for the purpose of the Mitzvah.

    FOUR CUPS Four Cups

The wine cups used for the Seder must be large enough to contain at least three and a half ounces. Those who are unable to drink such a large amount of alcohol may use grape juice in place of wine, or mix grape juice with wine. Grape juice, like all Pesach products, must be certified Kosher by a competent Rabbinic authority.

    MARROR Marror

There are five different species of bitter herbs which may be used for the Seder. For practical purposes and symbolic reasons, romaine lettuce is recommended. As with all leafy vegetables at all times, lettuce must be carefully washed and inspected to assure that it is free of insects.
